Financial and technical assistance for food
scrap diversion projects is available to businesses located
in the unincorporated area of the county or the city of Scotts
Valley. Under a County contract, Organic Recyclers Anonymous
(ORA) provides technical assistance to businesses that want
to set up diversion systems for food scraps.
ORA is available to advise and help set up on-site composting
systems for large and small businesses.
Waste
Reduction Grants of up to $25,000
can be used to defray the cost of set-up of on-site diversion
systems. For small projects, subsidies for set- up of on-site
systems are provided by the County through ORA.
