Storm Water Management
The Storm Water Management section provides engineering services and
coordination for the Santa Cruz County Flood Control and Water Conservation Districts
Zones 5, 6 and 8. These services include:

Development and building permit reviews for all
developments within the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County.
v
Design of storm drain flood control projects within the flood control zones.
v
Advising the public on drainage issues and resolving drainage complaints
when possible.
v
Coordination of the Countys NPDES Phase II Storm Water Management

Site Drainage Review
Storm
Water Management staff is available from 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday through
Friday for questions at the Public Works counter at 701 Ocean Street, Room 410 or by phone
at (831) 454-2160. Afternoon appointments can
be accommodated if prior arrangements are made with staff.
Construction Storm Water Permits
Also included in the State’s Phase II program is the
requirement for all construction projects that disturb 1 acre or more to
obtain a construction
storm water permit from the SWRCB (see http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/stormwtr/construction.html
for permit requirements).
